Awareness campaign about hemorrhagic fever
These days, the country is exposed to hemorrhagic fever, which is caused by ticks, and this disease is one of the common diseases that infect humans as a result of mixing with infected livestock, and due to the importance of this disease, the Dean of the University of Ashur College, Assistant Professor Dr. Dr. Zeina Tariq launched an awareness campaign to publicize this disease and the most important ways to treat and prevent it, because the Deanship of the College and the Head of the Department believe that one of the students’ duties is to educate people about common diseases and ways to treat them, so the campaign began by introducing hemorrhagic fever.
Ways of transmission of the disease:
The bite of a tick infected with the virus.
Contact with the blood or tissues of an infected animal.
Exposure to the blood or tissues of an infected person.
Symptoms:
Fever, headache, muscle aches, feeling sick, and diarrhea.
The incubation period :
1-3 days after the tick bite.
5-6 days after contact with contaminated blood.
Methods of prevention
Wearing protective clothing, slaughtering in municipal slaughterhouses, disposing of slaughter residues, and making sure that the livestock are free of ticks.
