Participation of Ashur University in a round of debates for the Universities Debating World Championship / First Season at the level of Iraq
Ashur University participated in a round of debates for the first season of the Universities Debating Championship at the level of Iraq, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Department of Studies and Planning, in cooperation with the International Academy for Leadership and Development, which was held at Al-Mustansiriya University on Thursday, January 25, 2024. A team of four debaters and an arbitrator attended from the university, in cooperation with the academy coordinator at our university. The debates were held in two rounds between the competing universities, and the first round concluded with the victory of Ashur University, the pro-government team, over Al-Karkh University of Science, the opposition team. As for the second round, which witnessed fierce competition and close results between Ashur University and Al-Mustansiriya University, which won by a small margin, our university's arbitrator participated in the rounds of the competing teams. At the end of the debates, Al-Mustansiriya University came in first place, and each of the debaters, arbitrators and supervisors received certificates of appreciation from Al-Mustansiriya University, the host, and praised our university's contribution to these debates.
