Department of Cybersecurity Technology Engineering - Message and objectives

Preparing qualified engineering and technical personnel capable of addressing problems and finding appropriate solutions in the field of computer hardware, networks, and data protection from cyberattacks, bridging the gap between theory and practice, and producing graduates who are skilled engineers capable of meeting the needs of the public, private, and mixed sectors. This also involves building and developing collaborations with all engineering and technical entities both locally and internationally. Objectives and Goals 1. Developing an executive engineering workforce with advanced academic and technical knowledge and preparation in the fields of engineering cybersecurity and cloud computing technologies, combining engineering concepts, technical innovation, scientific skills, and practical execution. 2. Preparing a cadre of engineers responsible for building, designing, and protecting the organization's IT systems, preventing data leaks, and maintaining a secure environment against hackers, viruses, and other potential problems. This includes overseeing various types of network infrastructure and available systems, monitoring network infrastructure hardware and security equipment issues, and providing guidance and solutions to various problems. 3. To develop a cadre of engineers possessing the scientific and technical competence in cloud computing operations, the ability to identify various technical problems using vulnerability scanning tools, monitor the failure of security patches and assessments, mitigate vulnerabilities, and provide assistance with security documentation and disaster recovery solutions. This includes developing a cadre of skilled technical staff. 4. To develop students professionally, culturally, and socially in a way that ensures their active contribution to building society.
