Department of Mathematics

As is well known, mathematics is one of the most important modern applied sciences, intertwined with other disciplines. Its applications contribute significantly to education, scientific research, and technological development. The department aims to prepare competent teachers who possess the fundamental skills to teach mathematics in primary schools. This includes their pedagogical preparation and training in scientific research through graduation projects, as well as their mastery of basic mathematical theories, theorems, and laws. Furthermore, the department develops their ability to use readily available computer programs and modern educational technologies. This is achieved through seminars, the publication of annual research, and collaboration with other departments within the mathematics department. The department also contributes to community service by collaborating with the General Directorate of Education on practical training for fourth-grade students in various primary schools. The department's curriculum is designed according to university and educational standards adopted for teaching physics and teacher preparation, standards approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The department also adheres to academic accreditation and quality standards issued by national bodies to ensure the preparation of highly qualified educational personnel.
