The Department of English welcomes you and gives you the opportunity to communicate with the world better. This is done through your linguistic proficiency as this language has become the medium between modernized sciences and being prone to other foreign and international cultures. The Department of English at Ashur University was established in 2023 to be one of the main units in the Faculty of Arts. It aspires to the best in the field of teaching English language and literature. The Department seeks to attract all high school graduates, literary, scientific, biological and applied branches, and the Institute for Teacher Education with linguistic talents. These are invited to join the department, in which study is for four years. Students graduate with a bachelor's degree in English language and literature and be qualified for governmental, private and commercial jobs. The department dedicates all efforts to enable its outputs to manage speaking and writing in English. This language has, undoubtedly, become one of the needs of the modern era. The department also provides other scientific departments with qualified staff to teach English.
